Jo Cox, British MP, dies from wounds sustained in shooting

Jo Cox, a member of Parliament for the Labor Party, died from wounds sustained earlier Thursday from an assailant who shot and stabbed her. The fatal attack occurred at a previously scheduled meeting with constituents called a surgery.

Taylor Swift museum display to hit road for State Fair of Texas in Dallas

Fans of Taylor Swift in the Lone Star State may never have envisioned this in their "Wildest Dreams." The State Fair of Texas in Dallas this fall will include a Taylor Swift Experience exhibit "showcasing memorable performance costumes, tour photos, and instruments" played by the 26-year-old musician.

Navy expanding review of gender-specific job titles

The U.S. Navy announced Tuesday that it is expanding a review of its ratings -- the service's term for an enlisted sailor's occupational specialty -- in a move that includes but goes beyond a mere gender-neutral rewording of job titles.

‘Hamilton’ cast left out prop muskets on Tony Awards performance

In their performance for the Tony Awards on Sunday night -- broadcast on CBS -- the cast of "Hamilton" did not use prop muskets. The move was made out of respect for families of the victims of the morning's deadly mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

Canadian high court throws out sex offender’s bestiality conviction

An unnamed sex offender from British Columbia had his bestiality conviction tossed out Thursday in light of a 7-1 ruling by the Supreme Court of Canada holding that bestiality laws currently on the books require penetration of an animal to have occurred in order to prosecute for the offense.
