U.S. population now has highest share of immigrants in its history

"The Census Bureau released today the 2023 American Community Survey (ACS), revealing a foreign-born or immigrant population (both legal and illegal) of 47.83 million in July of 2023 -- an increase of 1.65 million compared to the 2022 ACS results," advises the Center for Immigration Studies in a report released Thursday. "The foreign-born population size, along with the year-over-year growth, marks the largest the survey has ever recorded. At 14.3% of the total U.S. population, the share sets a new record for the survey," the report said.

Federal debt being added in trillions, with no end in sight

In the first 11 months of fiscal 2024, the U.S. borrowed $1.9 trillion, including $381 billion in August alone, according to the latest Monthly Budget Review from the Congressional Budget Office.
