Suspect in Iowa cop killings charged with murder

The man accused of ambushing and killing two Iowa police officers was arrested and charged with murder Thursday, after investigators said they had recovered the rifle that was used in the fatal attacks hidden in a heavily wooded area.

Iowa police find the rifle used to fatally shoot two officers

The rifle believed to have been used in the fatal shooting of two Iowa police officers was recovered, and investigators said the suspected gunman appeared to have tried to hide the firearm in the rural wooded area where he was taken into custody.

Scott Michael Greene, suspect in Iowa police ambush, in custody

A white man with a history of run-ins with law enforcement was suspected in the fatal shootings of two Iowa police officers in separate ambushes Wednesday -- firing as many as 30 rounds at one of the officers in his patrol car, authorities said.
