The 57th presidential inaugural parade rolls down Pennsylvania Avenue. The first couple delight many of the thousands in attendance by emerging from their car to walk the route for portions of the parade. Metro officials revealed that as of 4 p.m., the D.C. transit system had carried 538,000 riders — two-thirds of the ridership in the same period on the day of Mr. Obama's 2009 inauguration.
