CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A state lawmaker seeks to discourage Wyoming residents from easily switching political party registration before they vote in primaries.
Right now, Wyoming allows voters to change party registration at the polls. Some conservatives complain that encourages Democrats to vote in Republican primaries.
A bill sponsored by Republican Senator-elect Bo Biteman of Ranchester would prevent voters from changing party affiliation less than 10 weeks before a primary. Voters changing party registration would need to fill out an application before a notary or election official.
