GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A Montana judge ordered a woman accused of killing her 69-year-old mother to be held at a state hospital and granted hospital staff permission to medicate her without consent.

Great Falls Tribune reports (https://gftrib.com/2whBGCC ) that the order was issued Thursday for 44-year-old Pamela Courtnage who pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide in June.

Courtnage was committed to the state hospital for treatment of mental health issues. The order extends that commitment for six more months and allows hospital staff to medicate her through injections if she continues to refuse prescribed medications.

Pamela Courtnage is accused of killing Katherine Courtnage who police say died from blunt force trauma in Great Falls in May.
