SEATTLE (AP) - Police say a gun-waving man who was shot by a Seattle officer at a bus stop has died.
The Seattle man was shot Monday night and taken to Harborview Medical Center. The King County medical examiner’s office confirmed his death Tuesday and identified him as 36-year-old Andrew Law.
Police said officers responded to a report of a man with a gun just south of downtown Seattle at about 9:40 p.m. Monday. They say the man continued to brandish the gun in the presence of officers. He was shot by an officer with a rifle.
Under a new policy, a monitoring team responded to the police shooting to make certain the investigation followed all the rules.
