BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A new mural depicting the civil rights era is being unveiled in Birmingham.

Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange and Congressman Spencer Bachus are among the leaders who plan to participate in a ceremony marking the event Friday morning.

The mural’s images highlight the city’s role in the civil rights movement during the 1950s and 1960s. The artwork will be on the side of a Wells Fargo branch bank in Birmingham.

The San Francisco-based banking company also is installing similar murals in Montgomery and Memphis, Tenn., during Black History Month.
