Pop superstar Taylor Swift is set to become the most awarded performer in MTV’s history during Sunday’s presentation of the network’s Video Music Awards.
Ms. Swift, 36, will receive the inaugural Video Music Awards Artist Director Honors, her 31st MTV award. She has been tied with Beyonce for MTV’s most decorated artist, with both receiving 30 Moon Person awards over the years.
MTV and CBS said the new award recognizes music artists whose work behind the camera has pushed creative boundaries and advanced visual storytelling.
Sunday’s award show, hosted by Snoop Dogg, will air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles at 7:30 p.m. ET.
