Team Rubicon is an American non-government organization (NGO) founded by retired U.S. Marines William McNulty and Jacob Wood. Team Rubicon's mission is to unite the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams. Team Rubicon formed in January 2010 following the Haiti earthquake, when McNulty and Wood led a medical team into Port-au-Prince three days after the quake. On the streets of Port-au-Prince, TR's military veterans realized a simple truth-natural disasters present many of the same problems that confront troops in Iraq and Afghanistan: unstable populations, limited resources, and uncertain information. The skills cultivated on those same battlefields-emergency medicine, risk assessment and mitigation, teamwork, and decisive leadership-are invaluable in disaster zones. - Source: Wikipedia
