CBS News President Susan Zirinsky said the focus is on delivering journalism that impacts viewers, and pointed to interviews last week with top military commanders in the Middle East and O'Donnell's reporting from the Texas-Mexico border.
"People are hungry right now for straight-ahead news," Zirinsky said. "We're not coming at you with a point of view. We don't have an adjunct part of our network that has a point of view."
