FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A 3-year-old North Texas boy has died after being found unresponsive while in the care of his mother’s boyfriend.

Fort Worth police are investigating the death of the child, whose name wasn’t immediately released.

Police spokeswoman Sharron Neal says officers around 11:30 p.m. CST Saturday responded to a call about an unresponsive child at an apartment. Police say the man called for help. The boy later died. Investigators say the child’s mother was at work and her boyfriend was baby-sitting.

A medical examiner did not immediately release a cause of death.
