President Trump on Thursday said that he has kept all of his campaign promises less than two years into the term,
“In 19 months, I’ve delivered on every single promise I made,” he told the crowd to enthusiastic cheers at the Republican convention in Dallas.
Mr. Trump ticked off a list of campaign promises he said he kept, including delivering the largest tax cuts in U.S. history, rolling back Biden-era business regulations, bolstering domestic energy production, cracking down on illegal border crossings, reducing crime and lowering the cost of prescription drugs.
“We turned that dark age of America and turned it into the golden age of America,” he said.
He warned the crowd that if Democrats reclaim power in the midterms, they will erase the gains America has made since he returned to the Oval Office in 2025.
“If the radical Democrats and communists win this election, they’re promising to tax your wealth, tax your Social Security, abolish no tax on tips, no tax on overtime [and] destroy Texas oil and gas,” he said.
Mr. Trump also said Democrats would “set loose criminals to rob, rape and kill like we had just two years ago.”
“We went through hell,” he said of President Biden’s four years in the White House.
