Meeting off between Denver police, Black man who was cuffed

By PATTY NIEBERG - Associated Press

This undated self-portrait shows Naphtali Israel at his home in Denver. Israel, who was handcuffed by white police officers after they pointed a gun at a car with his young children inside, says he will meet this week with Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen, who requested the meeting. Israel says what happened to him and his family in a grocery store parking lot on May 7, 2020 is another example of the injustice that has sparked civil unrest nationwide since George Floyd's death after a Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee on his neck. Police officials say they responded appropriately to a complaint about a black man with a gun. (Naphtali Israel via AP)
