FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A Fort Wayne man who pleaded guilty to robbing and terrorizing several people during a 2013 crime spree has been sentenced to 68 years in prison.
Twenty-one-year-old Devontae Hamlet had pleaded guilty in December to nine charges related to the robbery spree.
Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull on Friday told Hamlet he had done “some really bad things” before sentencing him to 68 years for the January 2013 crime spree.
Hamlet was charged in four robberies, including one in which he and another man used duct tape to bind a family in their apartment during a robbery. The Journal Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1mjnBcx ) Hamlet’s fingerprints were found on that duct tape.
