Dolly Parton’s nephew has been fired as head of security for the late country legend’s properties amid an escalating dispute over her estate, TMZ reports.
The entertainment news agency reported that a termination notice was sent to Bryan Seaver, dismissing him and his security companies immediately from all of Parton’s properties.
Sources told TMZ that the termination notice arrived Wednesday as replacement guards took over Parton’s main home in Nashville. Her museum, downtown residence and warehouse were also handed over to the new security team.
Mr. Seaver and his team said they believe Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, and Pinnacle Bank are acting in bad faith, adding that they are “dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” since Parton’s death, TMZ reports.
The termination letter states that Parton’s properties and business interests are held by the DP Dean Trust, and while Mr. Seaver lost his security duties, he is still connected to the trust.
Parton died in August after a battle with cancer at age 80.
