INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The owner of an Indianapolis group home for people with physical and mental disabilities and three of her employees face felony charges for their alleged roles in a resident’s beating.
Marion County prosecutors say Safe Journey LLC owner Amelia Hagedorn is charged with criminal confinement with bodily injury and battery bodily injury to a disabled person for the July incident at an Indianapolis group home.
Three workers face the same felony charges and a fourth faces a misdemeanor charge. Court records don’t list attorneys for the defendants.
Court documents say a woman resident told investigators Hagedorn struck her with a ball July 12 after she threw it at Hagedorn. Prosecutors say a video shows home workers holding the woman down as a co-worker strikes her in the head and face.
