What happened, America? Did high prices at the gas pumps cause you to forget the darkness of the Biden administration, where transgender surgeries for minors were applauded and men’s domination of female athletes in women’s sports flourished? Did your pocketbook override the moral clarity that once mattered to most Americans?

While the media harped about the unpopularity of the war with Iran, Americans seem to have forgotten why it was undertaken. From the 1983 bombings of the American embassy and U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut to the attacks on the USS Cole and the Hamas attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, 202, Iran is the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism and its funding of terror organizations such as Hezbollah and Hamas have created worldwide chaos for decades. It is inconceivable that Iran would have access to nuclear weapons.

In 1985, U.S. News & World Report listed the names of 320 Americans who were murdered by terrorists, mostly Islamic operatives. The contributing editor, David Gergan, asked then-President Reagan when America would strike back. Although every president has noted the Iranian threat, President Trump was the first one to do something about it, 40 years later.

The saddest part about what occurred on Nov. 3 was noted before the elections by Everett Piper in The Washington Times (“All Christians have a moral obligation to vote,” Web, Nov. 1). Mr. Piper indicated that of the 100 million people in American professing to be Christians, 40% (that is 40 million) would probably not vote.

The complacency by those who should have taken a stand against the evil perpetrated by the new Democratic Party is sickening.

By sending a socialist Muslim from Michigan and a transgender-honoring, “God-is-non-binary” kook from Texas to the U.S. Senate, America has debased our once-great legislative body and allowed our moral and ideological enemies to infiltrate our government.

They did not even have to use a Trojan horse. Americans, worried about gas prices, opened the front door.
