The Chicks, formerly called the Dixie Chicks, held up red paper fans reading “F—- Trump” at an Election Day concert in Los Angeles, with the trio fanning themselves as the audience applauded.
Lead singer Natalie Maines welcomed the audience to what she called “our blue-nami night,” saying, “Texas is blue. The Senate is blue, and the House is blue.”
The Texas-raised trio was celebrating Democratic wins in their home state, including James Talarico’s Senate victory over Ken Paxton, the first for a Democrat there since 1988, and Gina Hinojosa’s election as the first Democratic governor since 1990.

The band performed its 2006 song “Not Ready to Make Nice,” which addresses how Ms. Maines said in a 2003 concert in London that she was ashamed the president was from Texas, referring to former President George W. Bush’s war in Iraq.
According to The New York Times, the group sells T-shirts reading “We’re ashamed the president of the United States is from the United States,” which Ms. Maines said is their second-biggest seller behind the tour shirt.
