Rep. Byron Donalds, a Republican, defeated Democrat David Jolly in the Florida gubernatorial race Tuesday night.

Mr. Donalds, 48, who has represented Florida’s 19th Congressional District since 2021, will succeed Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican. Mr. DeSantis is term-limited.

The win against Mr. Jolly, a former Republican who switched parties ahead of his run for governor, was close, with Mr. Donalds winning by roughly two percentage points.
