Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are rearresting illegal immigrants shortly after they win their freedom in habeas corpus petitions in federal court, according to reports.

There have been at least 20 cases in which federal agents rearrested an illegal immigrant once they secured their release, according to Britain’s The Guardian.

In Minnesota, seven migrants who won their release were detained again before they managed to leave the Minneapolis federal detention facility where they were being held, according to Minnesota Public Radio.

“I don’t think being taken out of a building and directly into the arms of four or more officers complies with the court’s order,” attorney Daniel Suitor, who represents two of the migrants rearrested in Minnesota, told the Guardian.
