I am an American Catholic. President Trump is trying hard to ensure the safety of Americans by stopping illegal immigration, deporting criminal aliens and eliminating Iran’s nuclear program.

Pope Leo, meanwhile, is not only an outspoken supporter of wide-open borders but he has also described our war with Iran as unjust. Evidently, he is a proponent of a nuclear Iran.

The pope is being political and seems to be intentionally drumming up anti-Trump (and anti-Republican) sentiment among Americans, especially American Catholics. He is so determined to hurt Mr. Trump politically that he — as American leftists often do — has even created an issue by saying he is not afraid of the president. The implication is that he was threatened in some way.

Pope Leo is abusing his moral authority to influence the outcomes of our elections and, while doing so, is making Americans less safe. His statements, which have been just as irrational as those made by the Democrats in Congress and the leftist media, cause me to question his honesty.

A dishonest pope? I have decided that until Pope Leo reverses his position advocating open borders, a nuclear Iran and the Democratic Party, I will no longer add a donation to the collection basket during Mass.
