A man with a handgun holstered on his waist was seen Sunday protesting outside the Delaware home of President Biden.
The protester was seen by White House pool reporters donning a yellow-and-orange safety vest as he walked outside Mr. Biden’s Wilmington residence.
The president was home at the time. His motorcade later passed the demonstrator as Mr. Biden headed to the Delaware Air National Guard Base.
The protester was holding a sign with references to House Republicans’ investigations into the president for Hunter Biden’s lucrative foreign business deals while his father was vice president, which some GOP lawmakers have characterized as an influence-peddling scheme.
Delaware is an open-carry state.
The Secret Service did not intervene with the protester because, the agency said, he did not pose a threat though a Service vehicle was monitoring him.
“The individual expressing his constitutional rights had no impact on any of the Secret Service’s protectees’ movements,” said Special Agent Steve Kopek, a Secret Service spokesman.
The protester’s sign read: “Bidens are criminals, 20 shell companies?! Where’s the laptop? 10% for the big guy.”
On the other side it stated: “Joe has aliases?! Robert L. Peters, Robin Ware, JRN Ware.”
