House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler said Monday President Trump’s former adviser Steve Bannon handed over “thousands” of documents in response to the committee’s probe of the administration, Mr. Trump’s campaign and business dealings.
The New York Democrat sent out more than 80 requests earlier this month to individuals and companies connected to the president as it investigates whether Mr. Trump tried to obstruct justice during the special counsel probe.
On Monday, Mr. Nadler told MSNBC he received tens of thousands of documents so far, and people have signaled they will cooperate with the panel’s investigation.
“I’m encouraged by how much information we’ve gotten,” he told MSNBC host Rachel Maddow. “We are going to have to analyze all of this and see where we go from here.”
