Judge allows lawsuit against mall developers to move forward

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A judge has allowed a lawsuit filed by opponents of a planned mall in downtown Burlington to move forward.

WCAX-TV reports that the lawsuit accuses developers of violating terms of a settlement agreement by making zoning changes without telling the other party and not making a promised charitable donation.

Developers of the $235 million project have two weeks to respond.

The project is months behind schedule. Developers said last month that they were making progress on financing plans.

It’s unclear when work will start up again.
