TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Law enforcement agencies across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee are joining forces for a weeklong initiative aimed at reducing traffic fatalities.

The campaign which runs through Sunday is called Operation Southern Shield.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the program’s mission is to get motorists to obey speed limits on roadways from local roads to interstate highways.
