Bill Maher, Larry David spot-on about socialism’s dangers

In July, when longtime liberal comedian Bill Maher said that if the Democratic Party keeps going in the direction of the Democratic Socialists of America, his vote would be “in play,” the declaration provoked a profound question: How many Democrats feel the same way?

Republicans hope this line of thinking is going through the minds of millions of traditional Democrats and independents as they decide whom to vote for in the Nov. 3 midterm elections.

A broad bipartisan coalition such as this has become necessary to stop socialism in America in its tracks. After all, when it comes to saving our constitutional republic, using common sense is a must.

It is no secret what radicalized, socialism-infused congressional Democrats are planning if they take control of the legislative branch. It would start with wasting precious time on nonstop, meritless impeachment investigations of President Trump and his Cabinet instead of focusing on the issues people care most about.

Then, DSA-influenced Democrats would pivot to “Medicare for All,” which is also known as socialized medicine. They would make America a sanctuary nation for illegal immigrants, raise taxes on job creators and try to implement as many job-killing, extremist climate regulations as possible.

Consider this buffet of lunacy an appetizer to the un-American meal of madness that would follow. Get ready for votes on packing the Supreme Court with left-wing radicals, packing the Senate with four more far-left Democrats by granting statehood to the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, abolishing the Electoral College so that leftists in deep-blue California decide every presidential election, and gutting the First Amendment to make it harder for Americans to speak out against the socialist takeover in the works.

Not every loyal Democrat is on board. The recent satirical takedown in Air Mail about the DSA platform by proud New York City native and Hollywood liberal Larry David must be read by as many conventional Democrats and independents as possible. Through satire, Mr. David targets a variety of DSA positions, including domestic issues such as open borders and “reimagined policing” and delicate foreign relations concerning Islam and Israel.

The radical socialist left is making such consequential inroads in the Democratic Party that it has become a dangerous proposition to give Democratic politicians the keys to power. How do we know what is on the horizon? Look no further than the destruction, lawlessness, wokeism and reckless policies perpetrated by the left during the Biden-Harris administration, particularly regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unhinged leftists and their allies in the biased mainstream media are now asking us to forget what happened just a few years ago, and it is incumbent on all of us not to listen. To quote the late, great Yogi Berra, it will be “deja vu all over again,” but on steroids this time.

Democrats in Congress will try to drown Mr. Trump’s agenda with obstructionism for the next two years, when the country can least afford it, and then go in for the kill by electing a socialist, communist president in 2028. This will mean the destruction of the free country that we know and love.

Far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York Democrat, has said that “Woke 1” now registers to her as a “crazy” period in time. If the DSA’s platform is any indication, “Woke 2” could very well bring an off-the-Richter-scale level of insanity and civil unrest to America, not unlike what we are witnessing in France. If you think something like that could never happen here in the good old U.S. of A, you are being naive.

Mr. Maher went on to say, “I’m not voting for anyone who thinks the wrong side won the Cold War or cheers for the Intifada like it’s the World Cup.” Sadly, it has become evident that the Democratic Party no longer stands for the things that made it a powerhouse over the past century. Presidents Kennedy and Clinton would be far too moderate to win a Democratic primary election today.

These critically important issues must be considered in the voting booth. What are those with D’s next to their names going to do with their votes in Congress? If they are in favor of a platform that puts America on a glide path to communism, people must think twice about electing them.
