Officer in serious condition after being struck by truck

CINCINNATI (AP) - A Colerain police officer is in serious condition after being struck by a pickup truck.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the accident occurred at about 11 p.m. Friday in front of a bike shop in the 7600 block of Colerain Avenue.

The officer’s name had not yet been released pending a meeting scheduled with his family Saturday.

Colerain Township police spokesman James Love said the officer was taken to a hospital, where he remained in serious condition.

Police and emergency crews were responding to a car that had struck a pole when the truck approached, striking the officer.
