MUNICH (AP) - Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara will miss several weeks with an ankle injury sustained in the German Cup.
The Bavarian club says the Spanish midfielder tore the lateral collateral ligament and the articular capsule in his right ankle during Tuesday’s 2-1 win over fourth-tier team SV Roedinghausen.
Thiago sustained the injury after a late tackle from Bjoern Schlottke and had to be taken off in the 75th minute.

Team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt diagnosed the injury on Wednesday after the team returned from Osnabrueck.
Thiago has played in all but one of Bayern’s 15 games this season.
