DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - Police have released the name of the 43-year-old man struck by a car and killed in Connecticut last weekend.
The Danbury News Times reports that Jose Yupangui was attempting to cross an intersection on foot in Danbury around 2 a.m. Sunday when he was hit.
Yupangui was transported to Danbury Hospital, and he died from his injuries that afternoon.
Police say an 18-year-old man was driving the car that struck Yupangui. The crash is still under investigation.
Yupangui is the third pedestrian struck and killed in the city this year.
A 31-year-old man was killed while crossing another road during heavy rain, and a 32-year-old man was killed in an hit-and-run on Interstate 84 while his car was parked on the shoulder.
