Sen. Marco Rubio warned Thursday the White House’s decision to revoke CNN reporter Jim Acosta’s press pass is a “slippery slope.”

However, the Florida Republican also criticized Mr. Acosta for behaving like an “activist” rather than a journalist.

“Revoking press access for being rude is a very slippery slope. But the WH pass is to cover the news, not make yourself the news,” Mr. Rubio tweeted.

The CNN reporter got into an argument with President Trump during a press conference Wednesday afternoon in the East Room and refused to give the mic to a White House intern.

On Wednesday night, Mr. Acosta discovered he could no longer enter the White House grounds.

Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the administration accused Mr. Acosta of “placing his hands on a young woman,” which the reporter said is a lie.
