Michigan advanced to the Final Four with a tight 58-54 win over Florida State Saturday night. The Seminoles did not foul the Wolverines in the final 11 seconds to try to regain possession one final time, and Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton seemed offended when asked about it after the game.
When CBS Sports sideline reporter Dana Jacobson asked about the team’s decision not to foul, Hamilton first seemed incredulous when saying, “The game was over.”

If the Seminoles had committed a foul and sent a Wolverine to the line, missed shots would have theoretically given Florida State a chance to catch up, though the time was dwindling. Michigan only made 66.7 percent of its free throws Saturday (16-for-24).
Meanwhile, Jacobson drew support from viewers and friends in the industry:
Good job standing your ground, @danajacobson. Completely valid question.

AWESOME job by my friend @danajacobson postgame..especially w Leonard Hamilton. Fair question that had to be asked, and she stuck w it despite his reaction. That job is so much tougher than it looks & Dana continues to prove why she’s one of the best in the biz 💪🏽 @CBSSports

Jacobson added herself that she was grateful Hamilton came around to answer the question rather than walk away from the interview.
Coach Hamilton spoke to me minutes after an emotional @FSUHoops loss. It was the right question to ask. He showed emotion & I appreciate him talking through it w/me instead of walking off. He was nothing but professional w/me throughout this weekend as I believe I was with them.
