VINTON, Iowa (AP) - Officials have identified the man who died in an eastern Iowa crash involving a semitrailer and a garbage truck.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that 65-year-old Dennis Umbdenstock of Urbana died after the semi struck the garbage struck he was driving around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday near Vinton.

Two passengers in the garbage truck, 17-year-old Wesley A. Venenga, of Vinton, and 22-year-old Jonathan M. Poorman, of Vinton, were injured. Both were taken to local hospitals.



Their vehicle was struck by a semitrailer driven by 31-year-old Christopher J. Stanbrough, of West Union. Stanbrough was not hurt.

Officials say the garbage truck pulled in front of the semitrailer. The Iowa State Patrol says heavy fog covered the area.
