With government funding set to run out next month, Sen. James Lankford said Thursday he doesn’t envision a government shutdown.
“I don’t see a looming shutdown. I do see a deadline though,” Mr. Lanford, Oklahoma Republican, said on CNN’s “New Day.” “Quite frankly Congress works best when it has a deadline. It hardly works at all when it doesn’t.”
Congress passed a short-term spending resolution in December to keep the government funded through April 28 in order to give the Trump administration time to settle in.
