CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man and his son have both been sentenced to prison for improperly billing Medicare for work done by untrained employees at their physical therapy practice.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 66-year-old Robert Claude McGrath was sentenced to 2½ years and his son, 48-year-old Robert Christopher McGrath, was sentenced to one year in prison Monday.
Both men previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit health care fraud. The elder McGrath worked as a physician while the younger was a chiropractor at the Atlantic Spine & Joint Institute.
