BOONTON, N.J. (AP) - Police have arrested a teen who they say tried to sexually assault a 71-year-old woman.

NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/2vrJnFG ) the attempted assault occurred Tuesday morning at a Boonton home. Police say an 18-year-old Boonton man broke into the woman’s house, stole money from her purse and then tried to sexually assault her.

Investigators say the woman fought back before the suspect eventually fled.



The suspect has been charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault, burglary, aggravated criminal sexual contact, criminal sexual contact and theft.
