COLUMBIANA, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say an Alabama man is dead after his car crashed into a tree in Shelby County.
Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/2dxic03 ) the single-car crash happened late Thursday on a road about two miles west of Columbiana.
Alabama State Troopers on Friday said 34-year-old Joel Ben Vickery of Helena was killed in the wreck. Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel said Vickery was driving a Ford Taurus left the roadway and struck a tree.

Authorities say Vickery was pronounced dead at the scene. State troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
