BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - Officials in a Massachusetts city have removed nearly two dozen cats from a home and deemed it unfit to live in.

The Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/2dpnT3Z ) that officials removed the animals from the Brockton home on Monday after a resident called asking for help.

Rescuers removed all but two cats, which animal control officers will come back to retrieve. The animals were taken to a shelter to be evaluated. MSPCA-Angell says the cats will be put up for adoption if they’re fit.

City officials say the home of an elderly woman and her daughter is unfit to live in and will be condemned.
