OPINION:
With Mount Rushmore as a backdrop, and America’s 250th as his cause, President Trump warned that “communism is a mortal threat” — greater even than the threats to liberty from both world wars, Pearl Harbor and the Sept. 11 terror attacks. Shortly after, from the National Mall, and with Independence Day as his cause, Trump said similarly — that communism was “like a cancer” and the only cure was “to cut it out fast.” A few days earlier, from a Faith & Freedom Coalition stage, he said even more bluntly that the Democrats were akin to “hardcore, godless communists.” And all the leftists in the media rushed to defend the Democrat Party.
“FACT FOCUS,” The Associated Press wrote in one headline. “Experts say Trump’s claims linking Democrats to communism are inaccurate.”
The fact that Democrats need the media to defend them from labels of communism is evidence in itself of the Democrat Party’s far-leftist communist tendencies.
From AP: “TRUMP: ‘It’s becoming a communist party. These are not social Democrats, these are hardcore, godless communists.’” Then AP fact-checked and surprise, surprise, found — “THE FACTS: No candidate openly belonging to the U.S. Communist Party has ever been elected to state or federal office, according to experts. Although there are fringes of the Democratic Party that have expressed support for communist ideas, experts say that they still advocate for a market-based economy and that it is inaccurate to paint the entire party with such a broad brush.”
That’s like making the case that to call out Washington as a liberal, safe Democrat voting base is to paint it with a broad brush simply because a handful of residents vote Republican. OK — but so what? The outcome is the same: total leftist monopoly on politics.
So it has become with the Democrat Party on a national stage. Just because there may be a few Democrats — the silent few — who still advocate for free markets, quietly, and who still support the American Way, silently and quietly, the fact is the socialist-communist infiltration has monopolized the party’s political goals.
With today’s Democrats, what passes as policy is what the Democratic Socialists of America want — and what the DSA wants is what the Communist Party USA wants. Democrats played around with the progressive label so as to mask their socialist designs, and parlayed their progressivism into democratic socialism they insisted was more democrat and not at all socialist, and now they’re pretending their open embrace of socialism isn’t at all aligned with communism.
Wait a couple of years.
The Dems will be running candidates who proudly boast of their affiliations with CPUSA.
It is the CPUSA’s stated way, after all.
From CPUSA’s website: “The only strategy capable of defeating the extreme right’s implicit and explicit drive toward fascism is the widest possible organized unity of all class and social forces whose interests run counter to those of the most reactionary section of the transnationals. Such an all-inclusive coalition needs to be led by labor and the working class in close alliance with the core forces. … This unity will include an ever-growing Left-Center political coalition that includes the Democratic Party base, left and progressive independents, independent parties who recognize the danger the extreme right poses, and all the progressive social movements on the major issues of our day.”
The communists will work with anyone who opposes Republicans, MAGA, conservatives and Trump.
The CPUSA will work within the Democrat Party to bring about its communist ends.
“The reality is that none of these major political figures in the Democratic Party, even those further out on the left, are identifying as communists,” Marc Selverstone, director of presidential studies at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center for Public Affairs, said in the AP’s “factcheck” piece.
Right. They don’t have to so long as the political compass is moving in the direction of communist.
Democrats have long relied on the narrative — and their narrating friends in the media — to disguise their true far-leftist intents, and they use labels and definitions to distract from actions. If they’re called socialist, they deny their socialist intents by saying they don’t want to control the means of production. If they’re called communists, they deny their communist intents by saying they don’t want to control the means of distribution.
Americans shouldn’t engage with such false narratives.
Where politics are concerned, the only issue that matters is whether the proposed action conflicts with the premise of American Exceptionalism — the part where we hold these truths to be self-evident, that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, that governments only exist to preserve and protect the rights and liberties that have already been granted at birth by God.
It’s either constitutional — or unconstitutional.
It’s either individualism — or collectivism.
It’s either God-given — or government-granted.
Leave the Democrat versus progressive versus democratic socialist versus socialist versus communist arguments to the scholars and the leftists who love to hear themselves talk. To join in the fray is only to play into the tactics of the communists.
