JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for an all-terrain vehicle that killed his wife on their way home from a bar.

State police have said 52-year-old Daniel Hudack smelled of alcohol, slurred his speech and had even wet his pants after the crash in March, but they didn’t charge him with drunken driving because the crash happened on private property. WJAC-TV (https://bit.ly/2dmwjZO ) reports troopers were under the mistaken impression they couldn’t test Hudack for alcohol because the crash occurred on a private trail.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Hudack, who is also charged with defiant trespass and reckless endangerment in the crash that killed 40-year-old Lisa Hudack shortly before 4 a.m. March 19. Investigators say Hudack drove over a 20-foot embankment.

He was charged Monday.
