CODY, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming man has been charged with kicking a puppy to death after it chewed on some video game equipment.

The Powell Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2ekMzuq ) that court records say a 27-year-old Cody man was charged with aggravated animal cruelty on Friday for killing the 17-week-old Husky-Labrador cross last month.

Circuit Court Judge Bruce Waters called the case “a very serious matter” on Monday.

Police records show that the man’s girlfriend called police on Oct. 21 to report that the puppy was killed and ask that the man be given a no trespassing order for her residence.

The Cody man told the judge he has been talking with a therapist since the incident.

His preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 15.
