FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - More than 100,000 absentee votes have already been cast in one Virginia county in the Washington, D.C. suburbs.

WUSA-TV reports (https://on.wusa9.com/2f52H2x) that Fairfax County expects to receive about 120,000 absentee ballots total for Tuesday’s election. That would mean an increase of about 30,000 such votes compared to the 2012 election.

Saturday was the final day for someone to cast an absentee ballot in person in Fairfax County. Mail-in votes will be accepted until election day.

Fairfax County has about 685,000 registered voters. That means that nearly one in six voters there are expected to have cast their ballot before Tuesday’s election.
