CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Natrona County detention officer has been ordered to complete 20 hours of community service for leaking confidential police information about a sexual assault case.

KTWO radio in Casper reports (https://bit.ly/2fkHnUD ) that Brendon Littau pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count.

He was accused of disclosing the names of those involved in a rape investigation to a relative who shared the information with the suspect in the sex assault case. The suspect then contacted the person who reported the assault.

Authorities say the information leak did not jeopardize the rape investigation, and the suspect in that case was arrested.

Littau was still employed by the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office.
