RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A national Republican group has doubled up on its support of congressional candidate Tom Garrett.
The Lynchburg News & Advance reports (goo.gl/xPRsl4) that the Congressional Leadership Fund has committed $800,000 to helping Garrett win the 5th Congressional District race.
The fund had initially pledged $400,000.

The 5th District, which includes Charlottesville, leans Republican. Democrat Jane Dittmar has not received financial help from national groups.
