VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - Police in Vicksburg say a homeowner shot a man who he said was trying to break into his car.
Investigators say officers were called to a hospital early Saturday regarding 19-year-old gunshot victim Donald Lawrence.
Police say Lawrence told officers that he was looking into a car when the homeowner saw him and shot him.
News outlets report that officers responding to the residence found the homeowner, who said he shot because he was burglarizing his vehicle. Officials haven’t released the homeowner’s identity.
The shooting remains under investigation.
