JOHNSTON, R.I. (AP) - Police in Johnston are investigating a domestic dispute in which a daughter was killed and her father injured.
WJAR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2hd81yp ) that officers called to a home around 3 p.m. Saturday found a woman who’d been fatally shot and a man with stab wounds.
The woman has been identified as Jessica Sutherland. Authorities say she was shot by her father, Robert Sutherland. He has been taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening stab wounds.
No charges were immediately filed. Police say they haven’t ruled out self defense.
