RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man shot and killed by police in Reno after they say he struck two officers with a car on the west edge of downtown.
Raymond Salaiz died Wednesday after the shooting near the Gold Dust West casino.
Police had been investigating a burglary and arson when they encountered the 38-year-old suspect.
They said in a statement the two Reno officers suffered minor injuries after they were struck by the suspect’s car and at least one of them opened fire near the casino.
Salaiz was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Sparks police are leading an investigation into Salaiz’s death.
