DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Danville man has been charged with the murder of his 6-week-old daughter.

The Kentucky State Police say Jeffrey Spielman, 45, of Danville, has been indicted by a Boyle County Grand Jury. A news release says the investigation began Nov. 20 when a 6-week-old girl was admitted to the Ephraim McDowell Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The child died on Nov. 22 at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington. An autopsy indicated the child died from multiple internal injuries.

Spielman was initially arrested for charges including resisting arrest, domestic violence and wanton endangerment. He bonded out of jail on Dec. 8. He was arrested again on Dec. 12 after officials said he violated an emergency protective order.

Spielman was indicted on Friday and remains in the Boyle County Detention Center.
