EDDYVILLE, Ore. (AP) - There’s been another fatal collision on Highway 20 west of Eddyville.

Oregon State Police say 66-year-old Gary Richard Langstaff of Siletz was killed Tuesday night when he lost control of his pickup truck on a curve and collided with an oncoming pickup. Langstaff’s dog also died in the crash.

The other driver was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Earlier this month two people died when their car left Highway 20 on a curve, rolled down an embankment and landed on its top in the Yaquina (yuh-KWIN-ah) River west of Eddyville.

The Oregon Department of Transportation has been working for years to improve the twisting highway that runs through the Coast Range between Newport and the Corvallis-Albany area.

A10-mile realignment is scheduled to open in 2016.
