CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body inside an underground basin by a city water department employee.
WLS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1f1RBEW ) the unidentified woman who is thought to be in her 30s was discovered Wednesday morning. The worker who found the body was part of a crew that had gone to the valve basin on the city’s far South Side to shut off the water to allow work on a water main down the street.
The police department says only that it is investigating and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office says an autopsy will be conducted Thursday.
WLS-TV reports that the body was inside a black plastic bag stuffed into the space.
